Dear Grandkids,
We had so much camping with all of you. We miss you all so much! We're so grateful that we have such fun when we are together. It's been awfully quiet around here, so we've been doing a lot of reading since you all left. We love reading. Reading is like dreaming with your eyes open! When we're reading it's almost like we can go on a thousand journey's and live a thousand lives. We can see and hear and imagine things we may never have thought of. We can learn a lot from reading about what to do and what not to do. Some of our favorite memories are of our parents reading to us. We also have a lot of fond memories of reading to our kids - your parents. We used to take turns sitting in the hall outside of their bedrooms and reading so they all could hear us. We'd read on road trips too. We hope your are reading together in your families. If not, it's never too late to start! You're never too old or too young to enjoy reading together with your family.
Dear Grandkids - 18 Days!!
Time is flying by and we love it! It will be so good to be together with all of you. Here's some things you can do to get ready:
1. Watch the movie above with your family.
2. Earn money for the Old Fashioned General Store and Jackson and possibly the Jenny Lake ferry to the Hidden Falls hike.
3. Be super helpful when your parents ask you to help them pack for camp.
4. Pray that everyone travels safely.
5. Get ready to have some fun!!!
And...guess what!!! Great Grandma and Grandpa Boyer are going to visit us for dinner on our first night of camping. When they found out we'd all be there together they just couldn't stay away. They are very excited to see you all.

Dear Grandkids,
Families can be together forever! That makes us very grateful because we are our most happy when we get to be with you. We are so blessed to know our family relationships can be forever. Watch the video link with your parents to learn more.
Do you know who this is? It's Grandma Teresa and Poppa Stu on our wedding day! (We look a little different, don't we?) But we look happy! Just think. These two people had four children. And those four children grew up and fell in love. Then those four children and their best friends got married (or are getting married next week!!!) Then those four new families started to have children and so it goes....our family just keeps growing and expanding and so do our hearts.
On that day we promised Heavenly Father we would try our very best to create a loving and eternal family and He promised to help us, forgive us, and inspire us to know what we needed to do so He could reward us with our forever family. We are so blessed and love each of you!

Dear Grandkids,
We're loving all the I Am Thankful slips we've been receiving from everyone! Just a few more to go and we'll be ready to place the links of gratitude on our Christmas tree! The chain is huge so far!!! And it's going to get bigger.
We can't wait. We'll take a picture when it's done.
Christmas time - woo hoo we love it!
We love thinking about each of you as we pick out gifts. We love imagining you opening them on Christmas Day. We love Jesus and are happy we all take time to remember his miraculous birth and all the things he has given us like: light, forgiveness, the resurrection, and love.
Watch the video with your parents and remember the best way to celebrate the birth of Jesus is to love and forgive like He does.

Dear Grandkids,
We've been doing this blog for a year! Go us!!
Thanksgiving is just 12 days away. We love Thanksgiving for so many reasons! Isn't it crazy to think last thanksgiving we were all together in Manti and meeting Peter for the first time?!!! We will miss you all so much this year. But - we are super thankful we'll be able to be together with everyone for Taralyn & Daren's wedding in January. That will be a time of happy thanksgiving for us and we can't wait!
This picture makes us giggle. A happy family sitting down to a Thanksgiving feast. But look at the woman with white hair at the end of the table - she looks a little unhappy, doesn't she? We think it's because she's frustrated because the food is getting cold while all the pictures are being taken! (the little boy may agree with her) Adults work very hard on Thanksgiving to make a yummy hot meal. Be sure to tell them how thankful you are for their loving service.
By the way - the woman with white hair is your gr. gr. gr. grandma Clarissa Carroll. The woman beside her on the left of the picture is your gr. gr. grandma Barbara Clark. The woman beside her on the right of the picture is your gr. grandma Carol Clark. So - everyone in this picture are your ancestors too. See - we've been celebrating Thanksgiving as long as there has been one. How cool is that?

Dear Grandkids,
Happy Halloween! We hope you have tons of fun.
We used to love Halloween, although our costumes were a lot different than yours. Usually at the last minute we'd riffle through old clothes and dress up boxes and just create some crazy thing then run out the door with a paper sack.
This is Grandma in a baby dress and one of her mother's slips.
Get your parents to show you Auntie Kath's newsletter for more Halloween information and silliness.
We can't wait to see pictures of you in your costumes! They are sure to be better than this!!!

Dear Grandkids,
We love you all so much and miss you more! We have so much fun and learn a lot every time we're all together. We're so grateful we were able to play last month.
Now, we're so excited because General Conference is coming. We know we won't be able to watch it with you, but it will make our hearts happy to know you are all watching the same thing and hearing the same teachings from our prophets! We are so blessed.
It's sort of cool to consider we'll all be listening at the same time. Even though we live away from each other, we can feel close when we choose the right together.

Dear Grandkids,
Today our post is a little different.
We've just gotten home from our family camp. We had so much fun with all of you!
Next week school starts for most of you. Before things get crazy next week (and you start to forget) we have a survey for your parents to take. Ask them to help by clicking on the button above. We'd love it if each and every member of the family took the survey. That means you too. So be sure to get your parents to help each one of you.
Don't just think once per family is good.

Let's go camping! Do you hear the mountains and trees calling your name?
Do you dream of playing out side and riding trains and looking at stars?
Do you dream of playing with your cousins and Aunts and Uncles?
Do you dream of swimming and maybe even seeing a moose?
We do too!!! Color the swimming moose and bring it to us.
We'll see you in ONE WEEK.
Bring your tents, bring you sleeping bags, bring your swim suits, and bring your parents and let's go camping!

Dear Grandkids,
Happy Pioneer Day! July 24th is a special day. It's the day we remember all of the early members of the Church who crossed the plains to settle Utah. We bet you've heard a lot of stories about the pioneers this week.
We wanted to tell you a few more. But the pioneers we want to tell you about are extra special because they are your ancestors. Did you know that you have 55 ancestors who were pioneers?! Some were very old and some were very young, but they all came West in covered wagons and pulling handcarts so they could live close to the Prophet and have the opportunity to build another temple. They came because God asked them to. So, whenever you sing, or color, or listen to stories about the pioneers, remember - they aren't just any one, they are your great, great, great, grandparents and more!

Dear Grandkids,
One part of our HUGE campsite!
Camping! Camping! Camping! We are so excited to go camping with all of you. Only 5 1/2 weeks to go. What will we do you ask? Why we will do lots of fun things. We're going to ride a train. We're going swimming. We're going to play at Aspen Grove. We're going to look for falling stars and maybe even some fireflies! We're going to have campfires. We're going to walk in the woods and on mountain trails. Maybe we'll even find a lake or springs. In other words - we are going to have fun. So, we want to hear from you. Is there any special food you think we should eat? Any thing you think we should do? Any thing you want to play? Write us letters or get your parents to help you send us a comment on our home page. Or print out the coloring pages, color them, then write us letters on the back. Tell us what you want to do!
Dear Grandkids,
Happy Father's Day!!! We know - you aren't fathers - but we were raised by incredible fathers and we want to tell you about them. So Happy Father's Day - Meet our daddies!

Poppa Stu's Mommy.
You know her as Grandma Clark, but her real name is Carol Jeanne Loveridge Clark. She is being held up by all her children and it's making her very happy. Mommies are like that, they love to be surrounded by their children, no matter how old they are.

Dear Grandkids,
We're so very happy because we got to see you all this past weekend!!!!
We had so much fun with you at our house and at the party for Taunalee and Peter.
We feel so blessed to have you in our lives.
We love you all so very much and we are very proud of you! You are smart, kind, fun, and adorable. We can't wait until we get to see you again!

Dear Grandkids,
Guess what happened this week? Taunalee and Peter got married!
Aren't they beautiful? We're so happy to welcome Peter into our family. But even more than that, we are so very grateful that Taunalee and Peter chose to get married in the Temple.
Do you remember that Madison and Hadley made promises when they were baptized to always do what Heavenly Father asks? Taunalee and Peter kept that promise when they were married in the Temple, because that is where Heavenly Father has asked us to be married.
They kept their baptismal covenant, and made more covenants to love and serve Heavenly Father. That's why they look so happy. Heavenly Father is very pleased with their choices and so are we!

Dear Grandkids,
Happy Easter!
This is traditionally the week the whole world remembers the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Not only the people, but the earth itself. Spring reminds us that all things can become fresh and new again, just like how we can feel when we partake of the sacrament and think about Jesus. What a lovely and blessed time of year it is!

Dear Grandkids,
This is Joseph LeRoy Loveridge, your Poppa Stu's Grandpa. We were going to tell you all about him, but Great Aunt Kathleen shared stories about him in the Clark family newsletter. Get your parents to share those stories and pictures with you.
But now - what will we talk about? Hmmm...oh my...what should it be...wait for it...

Dear Grandkids,
We love hearing from you! Hadley has asked for a post about Mickey Mouse and Colter has asked for more coloring pages of dump trucks and excavators. We promise those things are coming soon. Keep the ideas coming....
But first we want to tell you about two more ancestors whose birthdays are in January. This week you'll meet one of Poppa Stu's grandma's and next week you'll meet one of his grandpa's. Then we'll get to Mickey and tractors!
Meet Poppa Stu’s Grandma Clark – Urna Barbara Carroll Clark. She went by Barbara, but her grandchildren called her Grandma Clark. Barbara was born 107 years ago on January 20th in 1906. She was born in a little town in Southern Utah called Orderville. Her ancestors had been called to move their by President Brigham Young. She died in 1970 when Poppa Stu was only twelve years old, but he still has very fond memories of her.

Dear Grandkids,
Syvert and Susie Schultz
Do you know what an immigrant is? It's a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country. You have a great, great, great, grandpa who came to America from Norway. His name is Syvert Schultz. He was born 156 years ago on January 22, 1857. He was your great Grandma Boyer's Grandpa. He lived until she was 2 years old. She remembers his big fluffy mustache, because it tickled! He was a miner and worked for a time in the Park City, Utah silver mines. He had a little girl named Susie. They were very poor. Susie remembers one time her family was cooking soup over an open fire outside when a bird flew over and pooped in the soup! But they didn't throw the soup away, if they did, they would all go to bed hungry. Instead, they just stirred it into the soup!
Dear Grandkids,
BYU Idaho doesn't have school on January 18th. That got us curious, because we didn't know of any holiday on that day. So, we did some research. We still don't know why BYU Idaho doesn't have school, but now we know that January 18th is Winnie the Pooh Day!
What a great day. Winnie the Pooh Day is an opportunity to enjoy your favorite bear and all of his friends. This day was created to celebrate the birth of A.A .Milne in 1882. He was an author of children's story books, and created Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Winnie's pals include Christopher Robin, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Roo.We love Winnie the Pooh.
One of our favorite Pooh stories is The Great Honey Pot Robbery. Ask your parents to help you celebrate Winnie the Pooh day by watching it with you by clicking on the link button above. Happy Pooh Day!!!!

3 July 1980
Happy New Year! We love the fresh new year. It invites us to look at our lives and consider ways we can improve. A big fancy way to say that is to make New Year's Resolutions. In church on Sunday the speaker suggested we should review our current behavior and then compare it to the way Jesus lived. Then we can identify how we can be better. We thought that was a great idea.
We also love it when one of our kids gets engaged. It invites us to look at our life together and consider all the blessings we've gained since our wedding day. And it invites us to remember how sweet it is to love someone enough to make eternal covenants with them. We're so thankful for Taunalee and Peter's choice to make eternal covenants together. Our family keeps growing and we couldn't be happier!

Dear Grandkids,
One of the things we love about Christmas is the way it triggers memories of Christmas past with all the shared memories and adventures. It just makes us so happy. This picture is of your great grandpa Boyer pulling little Tiffany, Taralyn, and Steven on a toboggan in Island Park. (Taunalee wasn't born yet!) They had been far away on a mission in South Africa for a very long time and we were so excited to have them back with us. We were so proud of them for serving a mission, but we had missed them! They were excited to be back with us too. Grandpa Boyer had so much fun playing in the snow with the kids. We cut down a huge Christmas tree that year and the kids decorated it with handmade snowflakes and popcorn garlands. Grandma Boyer loved helping the kids put glitter on their snowflakes. Every time we get a Christmas tree we are reminded of that happy reunion Christmas. And every Christmas we put a pinecone ornament on our tree that we kept from that tree so long ago. See if you can find it on our tree when you come!
Dear Grandkids,
Last Sunday Taunalee's roommates and Peter decorated our Christmas tree. We fed them dinner and made a party out of it. It was fun to spend time with each other, but it was also fun because we served each other. When we take the time to think about doing nice things for other people it makes us happier and we feel better about ourselves. Christmas is the perfect time of year to do nice things for others. But sometimes, we forget to think about how much people do for us. Why not take the time to notice? For the next seven days when you sit down to dinner share one thing someone has done to serve you that day. Write them down or draw pictures and send them to us and we'll post the ways people have served our family here!
Dear Grandkids,
We love the Christmas season! Last night we went to a Christmas meeting for all of the Idaho Falls temple workers. As part of the meeting we got to sing a few Christmas hymns at the top of our lungs. The temple president even said he wanted us to sing "from the bottom of our toenails." Can you imagine 1000 people singling like that? It felt like all of heaven was singing with us and the outpouring of the Spirit was amazing. We knew Heavenly Father loved us and we knew the birth of Jesus Christ was His greatest gift to us. That's why we love this season - all the world testifies in one way or another that Jesus is the Christ. Click the button above to learn more about the true meaning of Christmas and hear some of our favorite Christmas hymns.
Dear Grandkids,
We had so much fun seeing you over Thanksgiving. We loved the way you colored your placecards and told us about what you were thankful for. We loved seeing Madison be baptized and hearing all of you sing together. It was beautiful and we felt so much love it spilled over into tears. The thing we are most thankful for is the knowledge that our family is forever! We love being with all of you and your parents too. We are most happiest when all of you are with us. We feel so extra blessed this year because we'll be able to see you all again in December. You will be our favorite presents! Thanks for being so good and for choosing the right. We love you!!!!
Dear Grandkids,
Mmmm....yummy.
Thanksgiving is almost here. We love Thanksgiving. When we were
growing up our mother’s loved to make the house feel special for Thanksgiving.
They’d set the table to look pretty and make place cards for people so they sat
in just the right spot. Sometimes they’d ask us to go around the table and tell what we were most thankful for that year. Other times they’d challenge us to think of 5 things a day we were thankful for for a whole year! Always they were most thankful for being able to spend the day with the family they love. What are some things you are thankful for? Have your parents help you print out the cards from the link above. You can color them and write or draw what you are thankful for on the inside. Then you can mark your place at our Thanksgiving table and you’ll be ready to share!
Love,
Granma Teresa & Poppa Stu

Dear Grandkids,
Did you know that rocket ships were invented when we were little? Every time one would blast off we'd dream about what it would be like to zoom through space or walk on the moon. Wouldn't that be fun?!!!
This is a picture of a man named Buzz Aldrin who got to walk on the moon! On the moon you don't weigh as much as you do on earth so when you jump you jump higher and when you run your steps are bigger and bouncy. We would love that.
Have fun coloring the rocket picture. Love, Granma Teresa & Poppa Stu
